Artificial Intelligence and Compliance

AI is already inside companies. It enters from the top, through management decisions, and from the bottom, through employees’ own tools, and the two paths rarely meet. Unregulated use affects data security, trade secrets, intellectual property and liability towards clients at the same time; and an infringement of the EU AI Act may lead to sanction proceedings in Hungary not only against providers but also against deployers. Regulated AI use, by contrast, is not a liability but a source of trust.

Our K&P AI Compliance service works in two directions: we bring existing practice into a single legal framework or, where the company so wishes, we develop its use of AI tools together with our cooperating AI consulting partner and build the legal framework on that basis.

Our advice covers in particular:

  • mapping AI use: who uses which tool, for what purpose and with what data;
  • a company-wide AI policy covering all staff, with the internal, data protection and employment documents needed to operate it;
  • AI, intellectual property and confidentiality provisions in employment and service contracts;
  • AI provisions in customer and supplier contracts;
  • implementation: employee briefings, legal training and consistent communication to clients;
  • annual review, so that the framework keeps pace with regulatory and technological change.

Our framework is tool-agnostic: we do not sell AI tools; we regulate the tools the company uses or chooses.
